When I was just two and a half years old, Santa brought me a Fisher-Price Little Helper Baking Set—complete with an apron, rolling pin, whisk, and measuring spoons. Looking back, I think that’s where it all began.

I’ve always loved baking. I spent my childhood making Sunday afternoon desserts with my mom and sisters and dreaming up cookie shop names (sorry Snookie’s Cookies didn’t stick, baby bro!). As I grew older, I remember the pride I felt the first time I baked something completely on my own. Through my teens and early adulthood, baking remained my favorite hobby—birthday cakes in my tiny college apartment kitchen, cupcakes for a coworker’s bridal shower, cookies for potlucks, and treats made to celebrate with friends or lift their spirits. Now, as a mother, countless moments are spent baking side by side with my girls in the kitchen.

After ten years of being incredibly blessed to stay home with my two daughters, my youngest started kindergarten, and I found myself feeling a little lost and unsure of what was next. One day, while mindlessly scrolling Facebook, I came across a post looking for a baking assistant in a commercial kitchen. I took a leap of faith and applied, which led me to work alongside Madison, the owner of Yellow Garden Bakeshop. (If you’re ever in need of amazingly beautiful—and delicious-custom cookies, she's your girl!)

Being in the kitchen and baking, grounds me and makes me feel whole. I get to grow, learn, and refine my craft every day. While I love the work I do there, I want something more personal—something smaller. I crave deeper connections with the people I bake for and a way to give back to this community of Apex, that has poured so much into me and my family over the past thirteen years.

Making people feel special, remembered, and loved has always been the point. And truthfully sharing my baked goods with family, friends, and neighbors feeds my soul just as much. I believe good food brings people together.

That desire is how Apex Oven was born—from a longing for purpose, connection, and irresistibly delicious food.

Every loaf, roll, and cookie we bake is rooted in home, made with intention, and meant to be shared. From our oven to your table, we hope you love our baked goods as much as we love creating and sharing them with you.

As a side note, this bakery wouldn’t exist without my husband, Joseph, whose encouragement and constant support make it all possible. He wears many hats at Apex Oven—from IT, accounting, supply runs, childcare, dishwashing, and enthusiastic quality-control taste testing—and I’m forever grateful for all the ways he shows up.
